This piece came about in a chaotic sort of dance. I used thick amounts of paint while swinging the palette knife in all directions... soon, the orange had covered most of the canvas. When working with the knife, I let the paint show me what kind of scene it wants to be. I noticed the shape of a figure forming in the center and began building the narrative around that. I came back in for a second layer with a brush to add the figure holding the lantern to the bottom left. The interaction between these two can be seen as spiritual and representative of my two different styles.
